What we save, saves us.

Maison Hiltiti is a refuge that can accommodate a total of 16 people.

Composed of three interlocking volumes, this 200 m2 house uses the old structure of the land for its implantation.

The first volume includes an entrance hall / laundry room / sauna as well as storage space on the ground floor and a large kitchen on the first floor.

A second volume includes the living room with large openings on the landscape and the lake below. Finally, a last volume contains 5 bedrooms with their own bathroom and a bedroom with 6 beds.

The project is inspired by the Vosges farms in their functional simplicity and the use of simple materials. The roof is in steel and the cladding is in grey larch wood. The openings are all different and appear freely on the façade. The project is now waiting for the natural vegetation of the land to fade into the landscape.

"We are at the edge of the forest, the project is the last construction before the wilderness and the paths leading to the hilltops".

"We are fortunate to be able to offer the house this nature, our project had to remain humble and permeable to the light, the wind and all the animals that cross the land at night."

Each room has been entirely thought out in terms of ergonomics and fluidity. Storage units, beds and benches are integrated. Only the Stattmann furniture finds its place by its design and its colours. We have now been working together for several years and for this project we have developed custom-made products like pine tables and a bed.

We wanted a generous and family-like home but also a place for exchange and work in the form of workshop.

This request led us to simple choices : a large, generous and efficient kitchen which can be used all day long and which enjoys a view of the hills and the lake.

The interior is made entirely of spruce wood, which is the result of CLT panel construction. Only Winckelmans tiles were used for the bathrooms. This other material provides a simple and effective answer to water management in a wooden construction.

This kitchen opens onto a large living room with a large work table and two custom-made sofas that allow you to rest and enjoy the view.

“We wanted the house to be special but also simple enough for everyone to make it their own.“

“We hope that this project will become a place of sharing and that it will inspire the people who will stay there.”
